Melissa Kent grew up in Virginia, New Jersey and Los Angeles. She began her editing career with numerous credits for Francis Ford Coppola on films he either directed or produced, including a doc for Eleanor Coppola and THE VIRGIN SUICIDES for Sofia Coppola. Since then Melissa has edited nearly every genre of movie, including romance, true crime, comedy, drama, music & dance. She earned an ACE nomination in 2004 for editing the biopic THE REAGANS. Melissa had three films released in 2019: THE DIRT based on the book by Mötley Crüe for Netflix, the hit thriller THE INTRUDER, and Netflix's Emmy-nominated AMERICAN SON.
Melissa directed a 14-minute short film, BERNIE AND REBECCA, which screened at 36 festivals worldwide and can be streamed online.This expert donates all Sidetime proceeds to Los Angeles Regional Food Bank.
