Most films have engaging or intriguing beginnings - but few have truly excellent endings, the kind that make you think about the movie a week or a year or a lifetime later. I am convinced that finding - and writing - a good ending is crucial for building a story that has a fresh meaning, emotional relevance and the power to affect the audience. This call is about helping you find - or refine - an impactful, moving, thematically rich ending to your story, which might sometimes mean going back for tweaks in the beginning or the middle. (The call is for writers who have a full draft, no matter how early or how advanced, which I will read before our call).Schedule a Call
In addition to my filmmaking career, I have been teaching screenwriting since 2012, consulting on scripts, and I am also the founder and director of the Middlebury Script Lab. If you feel stuck on your script, if you need feedback or suggestions on a specific issue (character, plot, structure, theme or even a scene) or if you just need to brainstorm ideas and potential solutions, I can help. Email me your screenplay in pdf format (70-120 Final Draft pages) and a summary of the kind of feedback you are looking for. We'll set up a Sidetime appointment for a 60 minute feedback session in which I will provide feedback on all the issues you are interested in and offer suggestions tailored to your intentions. The goal of our conversation is to fuel your creativity, so after we hang up you will feel eager to sit down and write!Schedule a Call
